PRESIDENT'S REPORT
Hello Ya'll,
MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Hello, CFCA members,
GOVERNOR'S REPORT
Hi there!

COMPETITION REPORT
Hello All!
BJ
NCM AMBASSADOR'S REPORT
Bob Rolfe
Yep, practicing my "Kentucky greeting" as the Labor Day weekend is soon approaching. Some of us will be traveling up to the Bluegrass state, home of the Corvette plant and the Corvette Museum. This year the museum is celebrating it's 10th anniversary. Joyce and I have only been NCM members for about 7 months so we decided this was a perfect opportunity to visit both for the first time.
Meanwhile on August 1st, CFCA members will have visited the Russell home to drop off cleaning supplies and household goods. In addition a check for $1000 from CFCA was given. This gift was made possible by all of your love and support for the Russell Home.
August 15th we will be traveling out to the Old Spanish Mill Restaurant at Deleon Springs State park for an old fashion pancake breakfast. This is fun as you get to actually cook your pancakes on the griddle built in each table. It is a rustic setting, dress to be cool as there is no AC in the building just ceiling fans. Part of the charm the restaurant has to offer. The park has a spring, nature trails and is quite beautiful.
Also looks like some of our folks are heading up to the "grand-daddy" of Corvette shows, the Corvettes at Carlisle, Carlisle, PA. During August 27-29th. This is one of the nation's largest Corvette shows and the largest Corvette swap meet. Some CFCA members are traveling to this year's event by way of the Auto Train, departing Sanford, FL and stopping outside Wash D.C. then a 2-hour drive to Carlisle. Sounds like fun!
Starting this month we are going to try something different by have some dinner meetings for the second meeting of each month. This will be light, informal and more relaxed time to share with your fellow club members. The meetings may be different locations each month so watch your e-mail for announcements.
The planning is in full swing for the 2004 ROGER'S CRUZ-IN. Held on October 30th, this is a huge charity Corvette show for The Russell Home for Atypical Children sponsored by Roger's and CFCA. Derek and the Slammers will be there, Big Al is our DJ. We need everyone in CFCA to get involved and volunteer to support this huge effort for a very worthy cause. There are many chairpersons in place handling details but they need your help. Please call them and offer your time. Details on our Yahoo Groups Page. Start collecting door prizes, auction items, and trophy donations NOW. CFCA Chairpersons - Hutch & BJ.
Warmest wishes,
Bob

Please continue to volunteer your time, knowledge and skills with CFCA. Share your passion for the Corvette with others, and be sure and support those who support our club. Oh, and "Save the Wave!"

We are into the dog days of summer and judging from the attendance at our July 15th meeting a lot of you don't want to venture out of your air-conditioned homes. I hope everyone is doing well and that the cooler weather will bring you all back to our meetings.
We has guests at our last meeting. Larry and Donna Boyd visited with us. Larry and Donna recently relocated to Central Florida from Ohio and are long standing NCCC members. I sure hope they decide to transfer to CFCA and join our family of Corvette lovers.
Our membership currently stands at 135. I keep talking to perspective members over the internet but so far, just conversation. Hopefully some of those folks will elect to join our ranks.
Well, until next time, enjoy your summer. If you have questions regarding membership let me know either via the club website or catch me at a meeting. Keep the shiny side up.
Until next month keep the shiny side up.

Last month seemed like I was in meeting after meeting. O' yeah, I was.
The main topic of our 2nd board meeting of the year was "Homecomings".
That's right! It is that time of year again. Time to shine up those Vettes and check your shocks & springs. It is always fun watching the girls trying to pick the car that matches their dress and the guys trying to figure out which one's faster. Please, Please get involved this year so we can make the night of dreams come true for the homecoming court. We need especially convertibles and coupes. Sorry no hard tops, but you are always welcome to come out and show your support, we always go out afterwards to get food and liquid refreshments. So, when Arlene and Pat start the sign up sheets, please sign up!! Let's make this the first year that they don't have to beg for people to help. Plus, don't forget the main reason we do this every year, the funds we raise help us support the Russell Home.
The 2nd meeting I attended was the NCCC Regional meeting. The topic of insurance came up again. One of the issues of the insurance is that when we perform the homecomings or any type of parades we need who ever rides in our cars, to sign our waivers. I know that when we are doing Homecomings we are driving around minors. We have special release forms to be filled out. Since this is new for us, we will be working on a set of procedures before the homecoming season start, so everyone will be on the same page.
Other items that were discussed:
From Manny Montgomery-Florida Region Competition Director:
"The current NCCC Competition Rulebook allows for passengers under certain conditions during an autocross. Early this year we had an incident at the Gainesville road course that if there had been a passenger in the car, the passenger would not have survived. Therefore, I strongly recommend that we do not allow passengers during an event." Said Manny.
From Patsy Shearer-Florida Region Membership Director:
Dues for Primary membership go up $5.00 as of Sept 1. The Primary Membership will be $35.00 and the Renewal Primary Membership will be $25.00.
The spouse/companion membership will stay at $10.00
She would like to know if you do not receive your Blue Bars or if and when you do receive it, it is damaged. Let me know and I will pass it on to Patsy.
Well that's the highlights.
C-YA Soon & Keep it Cool!!!

Well another month has gone, now we inch closer to the fall and hopefully cooler temperatures. Looking back this past month we started out by providing three cars on Friday & Saturday nights to Pleasure Island. Boy! What a great fundraiser this was. We also look forward to more Disney Adventures. Our big event for the month was the great 4th of July parade at Hunter's Creek. First I want to start out by saying Thank-You to Arch for heading this event. It was a big job, but you got the cars lined up for the start of the parade and executed the parking just magnificently. As you can see Arch was in control.
Also thanks to all who participated in the event. We had 15 Convertibles & 11 Coupes / Hardtops. As you know we decorated the cars in 4th of July motif and they turned out terrific. We had a few special appearances by Uncle Sam & Ms. Liberty.
I'll say the parade was wonderful too, watching the crowds and tossing out candy to the kids. Thanks to Mark & Joann Pfenning for providing extra candy to Patty to throw to the kiddies, she had a ball. After the parade we had a "Corvette Coral" for the residents of Hunter Creek to enjoy and boy did they. The weather was a little warm; well maybe we should say it was "HOT". We all hung out under the trees trying to stay cool.
We did have a great time and looking forward to next year.
As we move forward, CFCA also participated in the "Corvettes at the Mercado". We took home quite a few trophies, congratulation to everyone. Not to forget those who like to gamble, we had the annual "Eckler's Sterling Casino Cruise", a few of us came back with less than we started, but we, a few of us come home with MORE than when we started. Looking forward and saving for next years cruise.
Into August, we have on August 1st for our planned Mrs. Russell's Semi-Annual Visit. The children always love to see our Vettes. We also made a breakfast reservation at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant @ Deleon Springs for August 15th. CFCA will meet at the Lake Mary Rest Area (east bound side) @ 7:30am and leave @ 8:00am to arrive by 9:30am for breakfast. After breakfast and a short walk around the springs we will jump in our vette's and go on a sight seeing drive. Hopefully we won't get lost. One thing for sure this will be a great outing.
Looking towards the future, if you are planning on going to Panama City for the "Corvette Beach Odyssey" or to the Keys for the "Corvettes in Paradise" you need to make your reservation now. Rooms and space for the show is filling up quickly.
Have a wonderful month.
Keep your eye on the road and on the web site for new and current events, till next month.
Let's cruise!
